  2.   The Help System: The Citadel Menu
  3.   =================================

  5.   ^variantname is designed around a set of menu commands which allow basic
  6.   movement throughout the system, message reading and writing, and a few
  7.   other miscellaneous functions.  Here is the list of the Main Menu Options
  8.   and their functions...
  9.  
  10.   [P] Pause        --> While reading, typing P will pause the display.
  11.  
  12.   [B] Backup       --> This command will return you to the room from which
  13.                        you just came.  You can also use a minus [-]
  14.  
  15.   [C] Chat         --> This command will page the System Operator.
  16.  
  17.   [D] Door         --> This command will present you with a list of
  18.                        available doors and their description, then will
  19.                        prompt you for the name of the door you wish to
  20.                        open.

  22.   [E] Enter        --> This command will allow you to enter a message.
  23.  
  24.   [F] Forward      --> This command will read all messages in the current
  25.                        room from first to last.
  26.  
  27.   [G] Goto         --> This command will take you to the next room in the
  28.                        system which has new messages.  If there are not
  29.                        any new messages in a particular room, that room
  30.                        will be skipped.  If and when there are no new
  31.                        messages within the system, this command will not
  32.                        take you anywhere.  You can also use a plus [+]
  33.                        for this command.

  35.   [H] Help         --> This command will place you in The Help System.
  36.  
  37.   [I] Information  --> This command will print out a description of what
  38.                        the current room is used for.

  40.   [K] Known Rooms  --> This command will display all of the rooms in the
  41.                        system which you are currently aware of.  The list
  42.                        will be separated into rooms with unread messages
  43.                        and rooms with no unread messages.

  45.   [L] Login        --> This command will prompt you for a password, and if
  46.                        the password is valid, you will be logged into the
  47.                        system.

  49.   [M] Meet User    --> This command will prompt you for the name of a user,
  50.                        and if the user you specify has an account, then the
  51.                        biorgaphy of that user (if they have written one)
  52.                        will be displayed.  A "?" at the prompt will provide
  53.                        a list of all users who have entered a biography.

  55.   [N] New          --> This command will read all new messages (if there
  56.                        are any) within the current room.

  58.   [O] Old Reverse  --> This command will read al old messages in the
  59.                        current room from last to first.

  61.   [R] Reverse      --> This command will read all messages in the current
  62.                        room from last to first.
  63.  
  64.   [S] Skip         --> This command will "skip" the current room and take
  65.                        you to the next room in the system which has new
  66.                        messages.  The messages in the skipped room will not
  67.                        be marked as having been read.
  68.                        Also, While reading messages, this will stop the
  69.                        read.

  71.   [T] Terminate    --> This command will log you off of the system.

  73.   [U] UnGoto       --> This command works exactly like the "Backup" command
  74.                        does.

  76.   [Z] Forget Room  --> This command will allow you to forget that the
  77.                        current room exists.  The system will prompt you
  78.                        for confirmation first.

  80.   These commands are the basic commands of the ^variantname system.  There
  81.   are other commands, known as "Extended Commands", which allow even
  82.   greater flexibility when using the system.  These commands, which are
  83.   combinations of the above commands with certain "Specifiers", are listed
  84.   in the help file called "Summary".  This file is accessed either through
  85.   The Help System, or by typing ".HSummary".  These "Extended Commands" are
  86.   either preceded by a "." or a ";".
